A few interesting facts about Lombardia
In the province of Lecco, in Lissolo, you can find the “trail of proverbs”. It is about 2 km long and it is located in the Parco del Curone where you can have fun reading the 65 signs with the most popular proverbs of Brianza.
It covers an area of over 33 km² and thanks to this impressive size, the Monza Park is the largest walled park in Europe (the fourth largest ever). Established on September 14, 1805 at the behest of Napoleon Bonaparte, it is the green area of the Habsburg Royal Villa. The park includes golf courses, a hippodrome and the famous Formula 1 racetrack.
In the upper area of Bergamo, there is an extraordinary sundial uniquely etched in the pavement below the Palazzo della Ragione. This “pavement sundial”, built in 1798, also serves as a calendar (at midday it shows the date) and gives zodiac and astronomical indications. It is a peculiar sundial (camera obscura) because it does not use the shadow of a gnomon but a ray of light to provide indications.
